At the Übersee-Museum, the focus is on the diversity of life, coexistence, and perspectives on our world. Yet we are much more than a museum: We are a place for encounters, exchange, and inspiration for living together in harmony. Spanning over 10,000 square meters, we bring the cultural and natural spaces of our planet to life, while continually exploring current issues such as migration, climate change, and global economic questions.

The Übersee-Museum offers students the opportunity to complete a required internship as part of their studies at universities and universities of applied sciences. Spots are limited.
All spots in the Education and Outreach Department are filled for 2026.
Please contact the relevant departments directly based on your area of interest and send your complete application to the respective department head. Please provide us with information about your background, your field of study and area of specialization and your motivation for applying for an internship.
Applications are accepted from September through March. Unfortunately, applications submitted outside of this period cannot be considered or responded to.

The Übersee-Museum participates in Future Day every year. There are 15 spots available. You’ll learn about different areas of work at the museum and get a behind-the-scenes look.
Future Day 2027: The date in April has not yet been set. Applications will be accepted starting in November 2026.
