Online mediaguide

The exhibitions to listen to from home

Our Mediaguide offers audio tours of all areas of the permanent exhibition. Sie hören Erläuterungen zu ausgewählten Objekten und finden Geschichten zum Nachhören. You can also access additional information about the objects in the visible storage Übermaxx.

In the exhibitions you can access our media guide (in open WLAN) via your own smartphone. But you can also listen to the audio pieces after visiting the exhibition and use them as background information. In the mediaguide you can also take a look at the exhibitions and the objects, so that you also know from home what there is to see and experience in the exhibition.

The permanent exhibitions

On the different floors you will find exhibitions on Oceania, Asia, Africa, America, global issues and challenges. Our latest permanent exhibition informs you about the history of the museum and its collections. In the mediaguide you will find the list of exhibitions for the selection of audio pieces. An overview is provided by the floor plan, which at the same time shows you where to find what!

The objects in the visible storage

The three floors and all collection departments in the visible storage can be visited in the online media guide. There are objects of trade history, ethnographic collections and animals and plants of natural history. Here you can retrieve text information about the objects.

Mediaguide for children

For our younger visitors, the exhibition visit is also supplemented by child-friendly audios in the media guide. In the “Tracking the Past” exhibition, for example, Martha meets the daughter of museum director Hugo Schauinsland, from whom she learns lots of exciting things.
